Environmental Health Academic and Service Directorate

The Public Health Academic and Service Directorate, formerly known as the School of Public and Environmental Health under the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, is one of the most prominent directorates in Ethiopia in general, and at Hawassa University in particular. Established in 2004 G.C. The Directorate currently administers a wide range of academic and service programs, including: 03 undergraduate programs, (07) regular postgraduate programs, Five weekend/extension postgraduate programs, (01) PhD program and One hospital service unit,

Beyond its academic mandate, the Directorate actively engages in community service, delivering preventive and promotive health services to the wider community. At present, the Directorate hosts 585 active undergraduate and postgraduate students across 11 programs, while also offering cross-cutting courses to all medical and health science departments, as well as to other non-medical disciplines within the university.
